View Full Version : Finally Sent DS-230!!

Hi everyone. I was finally able to send my completed DS-230 last Friday. I was travelling so I wasn't able to log on often).

Anyway, I'm hoping my case is completed soon like Amber's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be no rfes and that all will go smoothly.

After waiting for so long, I'm so glad we're finally at this step!

Almost there. Yeah I hope you get it complete as quick as mine was. I still can't believe it. I called this morning to make sure the message still said complete. I was scared that they put the wrong message. Maybe I should call and talk to a live person just to verify.

DS-230 is for bacground check isnt it?Is it for every I-130 aplication?I mean i am a US citizen and i applied and sponsored for my wife and last form i filled was I-864.I was just wondering if D-230 is next for me as well?

Cogratulations for being so close to the end !!! Hopefully NVC will process it as quickly as for Amber !

I`m almost there too, hoping to be able to send mine this week or next week by the latest.

Remesis, yes it`s the next step the DS230. First you have to pay the IV Bill and then you receive the instructions by mail. I filed, signed and sent it to my husband last week so he can have it when he receives the enveloppe from NVC. Or when it is generated if you use James`shorcuts.
We are not using them because I still have to stay in my country for one and a half month due to some health problems I have to take care of before I reach the US where I hear everything about health care is very expensive.

NVC also asks for certified copies of your wife`s birth certificate, your marriage certificate, police records and photocopy of her passport`s biographic form. Two photos with her are also required. And actually there are other documents in case you have kids or were previously married. All documents in foreign language must be translated.

Remesis the DS-230 is the visa application. Yes the ds-230 usually comes after the i-864. They are not connected however. You will receive the ds-230 after you pay the visa bill.

We reached it on April 28th. That is the date stamp his passport has when he left. I am so glad he did that because we have proof of when he left.

Now I just have to get through the next few weeks...:waiting:

Sometimes I can't believe it. When I was sending the forms, it seemed so surreal to me because I had been reading about it but not doing it. When I was filling them out, and every time I went to the post office, I was still in awe.

Now I just want it to be completed so I can get the interview date!!

I would ask you some question .

I would like to know about NVC and how they work because I have paper with them..I have I-130 and I-129..and also I want know how long I have to wait them ..I have been wait for 1 years to a approved my petition and aftere they approved .my wife she told me I have to wait more and when I ask her how long she said I do not know so I am looking for some one tell me who long I have to wait and what's going on over there ..

Please give me simple answer I will appreciat it
