I take pictures only for fun. It's a great way to be creative. It's not as easy as having good equipment and taking snapshots. You have to develop an eye for what you want your images to tell. Every picture should tell a story or a message. You guys are welcome to check out my flickr page to see more pictures. I have a few hundred photos there. You can also download or order prints if you like any of them. I don't get anything out of it but just the satisfaction that others enjoy my work.

Oh! I can't wait to look at your flickr site (later when I get home because flickr is barred on my work computer) - do I have your permission to use your photos as my computer desktop background?
You are very talented.

Absolutely... this is the one I have on my desktop at work http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3041/2421751881_6338fa14ca.jpg
I took this one a few weeks ago with a technique I learned on the internet. It's called HDR. You take several pictures at different exposures then let photoshop put them together. It's pretty awesome.

You take pictures for fun? You should be making money out of those fabulous photos! Looks like a work of a professional photographer, if not, better.
Classic!

To tell you the truth, I wouln't now how to start selling my pictures. Also, compared to some of the phots in flickr, mine are just snapshots. If you see my page you can see that my pics are getting a little better every time. I'm hoping that sometime I'll get as good as the others on the site. It's just about practecing and improving on a skill. It's like anything else in life.

Prices are coming down every month as new technology is introduced. My camera is a starter model and the price for a new one today is about 1/2 of when I bought it 1.5 years ago. I have been buying inexpensive used lenses on ebay.

Yeah I actually looked at ebay today after finding out what kinda cam you have... still unfortunately a little out of my price range for now. You're right, though... they were like $1000 when they first came out and I envied everyone who had one :)
I just checked the prices... I can't afford it :(
