:crying: Hi all! I have a question, I just called Alfredo to sch. appt to p/u hubby from airport, hubby's appt is on May 8 @ 7.15am, Alfredo asked me if I was coming with my man and I replied "NO" b/c I am working. He told me that it would be a good idea for me to come w/hubby, and he told me more things, so I am really nervous now b/c I have not purchased a airplane ticket for me since I did not plan on coming along hubby. Do you guys think is this going to be a problem? I made plan to go w/hubby for the waiver appt which is June 6 but not for 1st interview! Which one is the one that really matters? Are they going to ask him for me? Do I write a letter stating why I am not there w/him?
Please advice me, it is urgent! :shy:

maylin - You will not be allowed in the consulate at the first appt (or the waiver appt for that matter ...) However - it has rarely occured that they ask for the spouse.
If you can not be in CDJ at the time of the interview - I would not be overly concerned about it. But - I would definatly send a letter with him indicating why you are not there (work, health, money, whatever) but that are in full support of the process he is going through.
Just my two cents.

Thank you, Alfredo told me if I was not able to be there, I could just write a letter to them, but I am just freaking out b/c I do not want to jeopardize the process in any way!

I had a similar issue when we were getting ready to go to CDJ. I had a limited amount of vacation time and I hadn't planned on going to CDJ until the night before the waiver appointment. My fiance talked to Alfredo and he told him the same thing...that I should go. So my fiance was freaking out and asked me to go for the whole thing, which I did because I wanted to be with him for moral support...but I don't think it was necessary. I am happy I went because I got to see this whole thing through, after all the preparation and worry. But I definitely wasn't needed.
By the way, Alfredo might know a lot about CDJ and the whole process...and a super nice guy. But he isn't a lawyer and he doesn't know much more than all of us do after reading each others posts. My fiance planned on going to visit his family after his waiver appointment, and Alfredo tried to convince him that he had to fly back to CDJ to cross into the U.S....which clearly isn't true. He can enter at any POE.

Maylin, I don't think you will be jeopardizing the process in any way. Like it was said before, it is rare that they ask to meet with the spouse. In the event they do they will most likely give you the oppotunity to come at a later date. Don't worry and GOOD LUCK to your hubby next week!!!
