placing links in signature?

ok, see the link in my signature? how do i make it say something like "click here" and the link is embedded where it says "here" so that when you click on the word "here" it takes you to the page? it looks nicer.

am i making sense?

1) Write something
2) go and copy the link for whatever you want
3) highlight the text you want to hyperlink
4) click the little globe with the chain in the tool bar
5) paste the link there
6) hit okay :)

This is driving me nuts. I try to place my time line link from the time line page and it just ends changing the time line in all my old posts. Does that make sense? I want to try to make just the time line place. I tried to follow the directions and I still can not figure it out. UGG!

If you change your signature it changes everywhere you are on the forum, same as your avatar, mood, etc. There is no way to change your signature one place and not have it change somewhere else.
Are you talking about putting a timeline post somewhere and then linking it in your signature though? Because you need to actually go to one of the timelines areas, like I-601 timelines, make a new thread, and then link that to your signature. Does that make sense?

Okay, I went into the "timeline" you posted today and edited it.

Look here:

Now go change your signature and type:

My Timeline (or whatever)
Highlight it, click on the globe, then insert the link above, then take all the other text out of your signature that you don't want there.

Does that help?

The problem is that you have to create a thread to link to, not have the text in your signature. The signature will always change.

In reference to signatures also... I can't get my "ticker" to work.
I go create a ticker at like TickerFactory... copy and paste the HTML code... and it's not giving the picture. Just the html code. :( Help!

You need to use the bbcode not the html. :wink:
