I am filing an I-601 for my fiance in Korea. I met him 2 years ago and I have been there 3 times. He was denied the visa in February 2007 because of (unfortunately) a criminal record. He has 2 CIMT on his record. I have a lawyer. The main hardship I am using is that I am disabled (spinal cord injury, use wheelchair) and Korea is far behind the US on accessibility issues. Also it would be hard for me to get a job there. Also, it would be hard for my son who is 12 to be educated there, as he would probably have to go to a school for foreign children which is private and expensive. I am very nervous about it. I wish the best of luck to all of you who are applying for waivers.

Welcome Shannon!

You have so found the right place to find information or just talk to people who are going through or who have gone through the I-601process.

Mu husbands waiver was for CIMT thru Canada, so I know what you are dealing with. If you documented everything correctly all will work on your favour I am sure!
