Our I-601 was denied in Honduras and we will have to wait out a 5yr ban and refile everything. My HSL contained original documents that I will need again for my next HSL I will submit at the end of next year. Can I get it back?? How??

I don't know if you can or not, though I've heard they give your paperwork back when your husband picks up the visa. Considering your situation, maybe you should send an email to the embassy and ask them if you can have your 601 paperwork in order to re-file when you are able.

Thanks guys!! I sent an email but haven't heard back. Some of the documents can be replaced but the most important ones I really need back!!

Have you thought of going to the consulate yourself when you go down in August? I hope they respond before then, but maybe it could be another avenue you could take.

Yes, if we do not hear anything before then I will have to go down there. I don't see any reason why they would need to hang on to it.

We got the documents back but then he had to turn around and give them to the POE officer when he arrived in the US. We havent seen them since. They were apart of the brown envelope package you receive. You arent supposed to open it. In our case, the envelope was ripped. We had to re-send it back to the embassy for repackaging.

Her waiver was denied though.

I think you should be able to get them back. I would do what the others have stated. Contact the embassy and see if you can get them (even if it means you pay for them to send them back). Or maybe your hubby can go and pick it up for you. I would try to email them to see what they write you back, that way if they say you can get it back you have it in writing! Good Luck!!
