What happens if I dont carry a waiver with me? What happens after interview? I think I'll have to file one. How do I go about it?

If you post your situation, we can probably help you with which waiver/s you will need. . .depending on your consulate, they may let you pay and file same day. If you're going through Mexico, you'll be able to set up an appointment to submit the wiaver a couple of days later, and have it adjudicated same day.

:ditto:
We filed through Honduras, so we were able to pay and file the same day as the IV interview.

Congratulations Emt103c on your I212 approval this week! I didn't see the approval in the I212 section--I'm so happy for you!

It depends which country you are in...but if they don't allow you to file it that same day, I would still have it prepared so you can file it as soon as possible once you know the details. I am in the same situation, we are waiting for our interview date and are preparing our waiver now so we will have it ready for our interview. We are going through Amman, Jordan. I believe they will send our waiver to Athens for processing (which is not the most promising I hear...)

We filed ours they day of my interview. I think it all depends on what country you are filing in and what that consulate policy is.
I filed in Montreal (Canada). GOOD LUCK with everything!!!

My lawyer is preparing my I601, I dont have my interview date yet, but according to my lawyer, I should bring my waiver pocket with me, so I could file it in the same day if the consulate require me to do so.I am also preparing a scrap book for waiver soon I get them in the mail, for photos, email, financial info and personal letters from my husband son and my mother which is use in my hardship waiver. I am from Philippines and I heard that Philippines is not so freindly in approving waiver, but I am keeping my fingers cross, cuz if God is with me who can be against me. Good Luck to you:waiting:

My husband is going through Damascus, Syria and was not able to file the waiver the same day. The embassy took fingerprints and told him to wait until he received a denial letter. It appeared the embassy had to wait to ensure he did not have any arrests in the USA when he was here (I guess) and to confirm the overstay. He was finally able to submit the waiver five weeks or so after, and then the embassy sent the waiver to Athens. It took one month for the waiver packet to be received in Athens from Damascus. Hope this helps.
Good luck to you!
