I have been hunting for a job since Feb. and nothing, nada, zip!! No one is calling me back!!!!!!! I have no idea why, Im applying for jobs that I am qualified for, I have even applied to tons of jobs even, where I used to work and have spoken to my old boss who said she would love to have me back, but HR never calls. I need a job.. yesterday!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! This is seriously driving me nuts, on top of the fact we still have no NOA1!!!

Thanks for 'listening' :)

Looking for work can be sooooo discouraging. I completely hear you.

Have you tried a temp agency? I know they don't pay well, but it's a good way to get your foot in the door with a company and if they like you, they might hire you as a permanent employee.

The problem is I am wanting FT (I would take PT at this point) and I need an odd schedule, weekends, evenings, nights, or a combo, or 3 wk days or less.. I worked at a hospital before, which was great, this time Ive applied in more areas and still nothing.

My whole life is waiting, on something, job, taxes, immigration... I just wish I could speed things up a little :)

What line of work? Have you tried calling the HR dept and said " yes I have submitted an application with your company and was wondering if anyone has had the time to review it?" That has worked for me on occasion. Dont give up.

Most recently I was a Care assistant (I would love to finish nursing school:)) before that I was basically an office manager, I did a bunch of things, AP/AR, HR, basic office assistant stuff... (too long to write out :) ) Soo I have been applying for jobs in both fields and have chased HR so much and nothing... Ive left messages, emails, Ive had emails saying they have reviewed my application, those saying they have filled the job, those asking for more info.. but no interviews!!

Mouse..have you tried applying/starting oncall at your local hospital?Sometimes that is a good way to get your foot in the door..plus your pay is usually a bit better that way...just a thought :)

Mouse, good luck!
Job hunting can be such a terrible thing... especially with the economy so bad. I hope you get a call back pretty soon!

My sister works for Medix Health Staffing, it's a staffing agency that recruit nurses etc... I know that their located in CA and Chicago, this is their website www.medixhealth.com.
With the recession it's hard right now, but do not give up!

You could look around for non-medical homecar agencies and apply there. They don't pay a lot, but usually they can work with you on scheduling. I used to have to hire them and I was always thrilled to have someone with a little medical background.

i can't believe a hospital wouldn't need you! there is such a shortage of health care professionals of all kinds...like here, for instance, i had a student who did her community service her senior year at the local hospital, and then when she graduated, the hospital hired her full time as a dietary supervisor--right out of high school. have you tried other hospital positions like nutritional/dietary aide? what about nursing homes?
