So alot of people have been asking about them.. well I tried them out and despite the bad experiences a few have had mine was good.. I got the birth certificates within about a week.. no problems with the order.. they did send me an email requesting "more information" without much detail.. but I scanned the BC we had and that was enough .. So I guess if you are trying to get a BC and don't mine the cost $$ then they are reccomended..

BTW they look alot different than I thought they would! They are really long and kinda a reddish paper and doesn't look like the original/copy that we have from before. Instead of each field having it's own box it kinda has these bigger boxes almost in an outline form? Anyone know if these are acceptable ? :innocent:

about the reddish copy--my BIL just had his mom get a copy of his from the registro and mail it to him, and it is red too. i think that's how they're doing official copies now. i might use actaexpress if my MIL can't get a copy of my husband's for whatever reason. oh and how many am i going to need? i just told her to get 1. should i call her back and change it?

Tasks, this is great to hear after Luckysprite had such a hard time with them! They came so fast!

Task how much did it cost? My husbands copy is moldy and not in good condition.

Jsierra - Hmm weird. Well I got like 4 or 5 just to be safe.. it's so expensive to get it I figured I might as well get enough to where he's set for life haha.. but I think 1 or 2 would be enough..

Dorothea - I know I was very surprised it was actually fast!

Emily - Well I got 4 or 5 copies (I already forgot) and faster shipping so for me it was around $160. The first copy is $90

@taskgirl post #1

Thanks for the update. The last one we received which has been sent to NVC was a pinkish color I think. I don't recall it being of a more reddish color. A year or so ago I think it was a greenish color. There was a difference in the boxes between this one and a previous (older one?) where one of the boxes wasn't on the new one. It might've been the box titled 'Juzgado' that was missing. No big deal. The translation, including those registration numbers, will follow the one you use for translation into English regardless if all boxes match earlier issued certs identically. No big deal.

I am gald to hear that you had a good experience. When we went to the Consulado Movil many people had blue ones. So it may be a State thing, too. They had a certifying signiture in the back of them and also the various stamps.
