I got married this past February and filed the I-130 for my husband to get legal status in early March.

I have 2 questions, first how does the INS classify a fraudulent marriage? Our relationship is not fake but I'm worried how the government might see it because we only lived together for a year before getting married and don't have many things together except a bank account. We're a young couple; I'm 18 and my husband is 20. Can anyone give me advice on what type of questions I should expect?

My second question is how long does the process take? He is an illegal but he has brought to the US when he was 2 yrs old so it's all he knows. I'm a US citizen so I heard that makes the process faster. Is anyone familiar with this, please help. Thanks !

Welcome Mima!

There are lots of people in your situation.

First things, read the guide in my signature. I hope it helps you out. You will probably want to start posting in the I-601 Mexico forum, unless your husband has a USC relative who might have filed a petition for him before April 30, 2001. Otherwise he'll have to file a waiver through Ciudad Juarez.

As far as the fraudulent marriage thing, I wouldn't worry too much about that. There are plenty of young couples around here who have not had a super-established life and have gone through the process.

Wow are cases are almost exactly the same only the other way around.
I'm 18, he's 20 but I got here at 2 and he's the citizen.
Don't worry, since you both are young they could probably tell it's not fake.
Keep me posted on your prog.
I just filed my AOS papers too.
