My AOS packet was sent out on April 7th. My question is how will i be notified that it is recieved will i get a letter in the mail or is there some place i have to call?

If you sent it USPS certified mail you can go to www.usps.com and type in your receipt number and see if it has been delivered. Also you will get a receipt from immigration in approximately 10 days.
