Thank you everybody! I am so happy, my love is coming home. My 11 years old said "It will be my best birthday present ever" We recently celebrated our 2nd anniversary on April 10 and my son's birthday will be on April 25. My question now is since on April 10 we have been married 2 years will the visa be conditional? Should I have him ask at the consulate? He is now working on getting the police records to take to the appointment. They have not called yet, as soon as he has the reports ready we will call.

First and foremost... congratulations to you and your family!

Yes, most definitely have your hubby ask about the visa at the consulate. By the time my husband's waiver was approved, we had been married 2 and a half years, and they mistakenly issued him the CR1 visa, instead of the IR1. My husband asked the officer at the POE to fix it, but he would not do it. He received the conditional green card from USCIS about a month after arriving here and now we are waiting for them to fix it and send him the unconditional one, which should have been issued in the first place. Thankfully, it was their error so we don't have to pay. However, my hubby did have to send back his green card so now he only has a copy of it. My advice is to take care of it before entering the country... makes things a lot easier. Enjoy this magical time!!!! :)

Updating information! Yesterday my husband received the call from the embassy they told him to bring passport, police records and a yellow piece of paper we received the day we turned in the waiver. He can go Monday - Thursday from 8 - 11am. I am working on getting flight tickets so that he leave Guatemala that same evening. Thank you again!
