Today I am feeling really blah. Like really down and unmotivated. I have a million things to do. I am behind in everything, homework, dishes, laundry, bills...etc...etc. Plus I have to finish my immigration paperwork that I am working on and mail it Monday. Then baby was sick Wed., and now I have a crappy cold. Geez...I am feeling really negative about now.
I just can't knock the feeling. What can help me get motivated and get me back into my more positive frame of mind?
What has helped others here when feeling really down and unmotivated? :erm:

Hi Kelly,
I'm sorry you're having a bad day. I can relate to that feeling. The best thing you can do for yourself is take a time out for you. Do something nice for yourself. I know it's hard, but try to take a little break from your problems. The housework can wait; maybe the bills can't, but give yourself some breathing room. Then you can start taking care of things - one at at time.
I hope you are feeling better soon. :)

Kelly, I really admire you. You have soooo much going on that as soon as I want to feel sorry for myself, you give me strength. What has recently helped me was going for a simple walk. It sounded like no big deal and when I did it, afterwards it helped clear my head and gave me more energy. Hang in there and good luck!!!

I get in a funk like this pretty often recently. I totally understand you, it's really hard to pull yourself out of it! I find that it helps to reconnect with something that I haven't had time for in my life because of all of the stress. Sometime that is calling an old friend and chatting for a couple hours, or reading a book, renting a movie, something to relax like a mani/pedi, something that normally makes you happy and is all about taking care of you! Hang in there! It'll pass...we all have those days...

Music!!!! I pick out an old CD I haven't played in a while. Or make a new playlist of songs that I am in the mood for. Then I either crank it up or put it on my player and pick the least daunting thing to start with. Usually, the dishes or something that will make me feel more organized and on top of it. If my house and surroundings....or at least one room is picked up (even if I put it all in piles on the stairs...I am more inspired to keep going!
I avoid bills at all costs(depressing:() but usually I feel better once I get through them.
I also throw laundry in while I am doing dishes/cleaning, so that I have a big pile to fold and can treat myself to a dumb movie or some tv while I fold!
BTW I can relate...it is work to get yourself going when you feel so burried, and I am not even seperated form my hubby!

If you have time sit down and make an amazing cup of tea. I think tea drinking makes you slow down bc it is hot and you do not want to burn your lips and relaxing bc it gets your insides all warmed up.Your baby could even sleep on your lap. Or when I have cleaning chores I put on Mano Chau or Celia Cruz and dance around the house. It is music that lifts you up

I have found total relief in walking. It's like a quiet time where I feel I'm walking away all my immigration fustrations.... this has really helped. i hope you find what works best for you and hang in there. I know exactly what you're going through. Good luck to you.
