Adeildo,

I wonder too! We put our waiver on hold in October and then instructed Rio to tell Lima to further process it in Feb 2008. But still, we sent our waiver in May-end 2007. I don"t know how the "hold" affects our waiver, but all-in-all, we will be at the 11 month mark real soon.

Pinkpig's excel spreadsheet shows timelines. It is obvious that the waivers are not adjudicated based on the date of submission. I think that the severity of the hardships, having kids involved, or other factors certainly dictate how or when the waiver is reviewed.

Chalakita,

Our waiver was put on hold because we indicated to Rio that we may be moving to Europe. Since we made such an indication, then it was determined that our intention for my wife to immigrate to the U.S. had changed.

But, after I decided that I would like to remain in the U.S., I had my wife send my letter to Rio. She was called to go there as well. Lima should have been instructed to further process our waiver case by now.

I am looking at having anattorney handle the final stages of our waiver process or at least assisting in moving things along or simply keeping us informed of the status, as I do not want to be the cause of any problems.

Thanks for answering Spike :)

So its been 11 months since you changed your mind of moving to Europe and still nothing? Wow! I heard the embassy in Lima tells you that the average time to get an answer on your waiver is 4 to 6 months. Have you tried to contact Laurel or Heather? They may be able to help you. Good Luck and stay strong!

The whole timeline has been 11 months. Waiver was submitted in May. Informed Consulate in October that we may go to Europe. In late Feb 2008, told Consulate that we wanted Lima to adjudicate waiver and we maintain the intention of wife to come to U.S. So, the waiver was on hold for about 4 months out of the 11 months. I don't know when a waiver is on hold, does it still move along in the pile, but just isn't reviewed if it becomes ready, or if other waivers pile up in front of it.

I will be speaking with Laurel on Friday!
