OK I been here on the states since 1993 I came with visa and Overstayed but I apply for politic Asylum all this time I was never call for interview.
On 1998 I got arrested immigration came to my house looking for my roommate which already had deportation order but he never left I was arrested even know I had work permit , I was arrest for one day then next day officer ask if I want to paid for bail will be 1,500 or wait for the court or judge . I paid for bail and get out and she put me in removal proceedings since 1998 and on the letter that she wrote due I enter illegally on 1993 ( which is not true) .
Then she said I will get a date for court , for ten year nothing happened I kept my asylum then on 2003 I marry my wife was only green card Holder, but we apply for a for green card base on marriage , then on 2006 dec my wife became a usa citizen so on jan 2007 apply for adjust status.
On adjust status was very fast got my interview on April 2007 then two months letter got a letter for removal proceedings this is the one that I had it since 1998 so my court date was on sept 2007 . On the Master hearing my lawyer took care of the situation and Explain to the judge that we already have a adjust status pending and went to the interview already and told him that I came as tourist overstayed and that we have my visa and passport to
and I-94 to prove it.
Well the judge terminate removal proceedings and he ask me if I want to close my politic asylum and I said yes. Then he gave me a letter and told me to take that letter back to the officer who did my interview for adjust status and that they need to complete my adjust status and good luck.
I was very happy that was on sept. 2007 and now my file need to be transfer from court back to officer who did interview 7 months after the court and I still waiting. Did info pass and they keep telling me that they still waiting for my file . Who long does it take this is a game is almost a year since I apply for adjust status I went court already on sept 2007 I have done all they ask me for .
Total of immigration cost since 1993 is $ 13,000 And the only thing that I been doing is going from work to my house thanks good that I do have a good job. And to this day I don't even know why I got arrested and why the officer wrote that EWI on 1993.
