With the advice from you lovely people here on Immigrate2US, I believe I may have a plan. Please add, or correct me if need be ~> take a look at what I think my steps should be.

1st: Wait for my "apostilleized" documents to arrive from the states, then get married here in Caracas

2nd: Husband applies for his new passport with married status. ~> Should I go ahead and get a Venezuelan I.D. (maybe it would help when I apply for the I-601.... as I did attempt to live here??)

3rd: Once hubby gets his passport,we go to the embassy and file I-130 ~> maybe follow with the I-129?

4th: The I-130 gets denied :bluesad:

5th: Leave Venezuela, go home and find apartment & job, have our baby, then apply for the I-601 Hardship waiver and wait :daydream: and hope, and try to stay positive.

DOES THIS SOUND ABOUT RIGHT :dizzy: ?? Again thank you all, I am so glad I found this site!!

Angela - You dont need to wait to get married to file the I-129. Of course u can wait and send the I-130 & I-129 together once you get married, but you can file I-129 right now. Since you are an USC you can!

That's true, but if she files the I-129F now she can't get married until the whole process is over and they are back in the states, so it's two different methods to the end goal. You either file as fiancees (and do just the I-129F now) or file as spouses (and do the I-130 for sure and the I-129F for K-3 if you want).
