Congratulations! What was your timeline?

We filed for I-130 at the end of January 2006, had our interview at the end of December 2006. Waiver request was mailed to Vienna, Austria and received on January 22, 2007. Vienna forwarded the request unto Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 2007. We received approval letter dated August 9, 2007 today in the mail. Now we are waiting to hear from the Prague Embassy to schedule our visa pickup. They say they schedule those within 1-2 weeks, but we need to make sure they have the approval package in their office before we can get this finalized.

Congrats!!!
Well it looks like you didn't need all that info after all. Do you know if you just pick up your visa? or do you have to do a medical again etc. Was your letter long or short and to the point any kids etc? Again Congrats and Good Luck!!!

When we went to the interview in December the Embassador said that once the waiver was approved we could make an appointment to have the visa processed. She said that we would have it either that day or within 24 hours and we could fly out right after that. We heard back from the Embassy in Prague today and we will go this Thursday to have the visa processed. My hubby will be on the plane back to the States on August 28th with me (we already booked tickets for me and my kids a week and a half ago and was able to get him on the same flights today).

No, he wont need another medical, it was good for 1 year and we had that done just before our interview in December. I don't remember exactly how long my letter was (2-4 typed pages?). I do have 2 kids from a previous marriage, so obviously that was a big hardship for me. Also, the language barrier, some minor health issues for me and my kids, my moms health issues, finanaces and economics. I don't feel we stressed as much on these areas as I have seen others, but we did have letters from our doctors, my mom, friends, family, our lawyer and even the Embassador in Prague. We also heard that Frankfurt had a good approval record, so I'm sure that played in our favor. Also, the approval letter was dated a day after my local congressman got an email back from Frankfurt on an inquiry they did on our behalf. In that email they said that our waiver was received on July 20 and would be adjudicated within 60-90 days. So, needless to say, we were not expecting this approval this soon at all. It was a complete shock to receive it so fast! We are soo thrilled! :bounce:

Thank you all so much! We are so thrilled! We wanted very much for my husband to be on that plane home with us at the end of this month and we finally came to terms that that wasn't gonna happen, but God proved us wrong and our answers have finally been answered! Best of luck to the rest of you heading down this path and still waiting!

I'm sorry, I'm not up to par with all the abbreviations, what is EWI? I don't think he is or was. My husband had overstayed his visitors visa and voluntary departed on his own expense and in the time they gave him before I even met him. He had returned back to Czech Republic and then went to Canada and that is where I met him.

I don't know how to answer your questions regarding I-212. Our lawyer had that filled out for us to go with the I-601 and hardship letters. When we went to his interview, the lady at the embassy said we only needed the I-601, so that is all she charged us for (better for us :bounce:). However, she took the whole package that our lawyer gave us which had the I-212 form. So I have no idea if that was part of our package or not. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm just not sure how that was really handled in our situation. Best of luck to you with your situation!

Thank you all so very muh for all your warm congradulations. It's great to have so many others happy for us that don't even really know us. This site is awesome, I just wished we had found it a very long time ago (not at the end of our process)! Best wishes to all of you in whatever path you may be on right now!

First off, Congrats to Paul & Kerri! That's great news!

I just registered and I hope I'm doing this right. I have been reading all of your posts and you really help each other out and I need some advise. My husband is honduran and he was pulled over for speeding 6 over limit!!! To make a long story short, he was deported April 2007 and I went to Honduras with him. I went to the consulate and we couldn't do anything because I had to do it from here in the U.S. Well my husband got very desperate and staying in Honduras for a couple months and now he is back. I am extremely happy he is here but I want to do what ever I can to do it right and for him to be legally in the U.S. I am afraid of him being at work, driving, anything...and every time I try to talk to an attorney, first thing they ask is "is he back in the U.S?" and I say no he's still in Honduras. Please advise!

Secondly, twoboyz27 :because your husband was deported and he returned to the US a second time, he is now officially ineligible for the I-601 Waiver. Start another thread completely so that others can chime in.

Thanks everyone! My husband and I picked up his visa on Thursday and today we paid for his flight ticket on the same planes back to the USA as my kids and I. We go home on August 28th. I still can't believe this happened so fast....well not fast....but we were expecting it to take much longer from emails we received back from Frankfurt. Hang in there everyone, your time is coming soon!

Felipe, I don't know what Colomiba's time frame is. We had our interview in Czech Republic on December 27, 2006. The waiver package was received in Vienna, Austria on January 22, 2007 then transferred to Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 2007. My local congressman sent an inquiry on our case at the beginning of August and on August 8, 2007 they received an email back from Frankfurt stating that the I-601 was recieved on July 20 and would be adjudicated within 60-90 days. Well we received an approval letter in the mail on August 14, 2007 that was dated August 9, 2007 (a day after my congressman received an email from them). So basically it took around 8 months total for our waiver to be approved. On average they say it takes about 12 months (can be less or longer depending on where you file and thier time frames) for the waiver process. Have you filed your I-601 package yet? If so, how strong was your letter and how much evidence of proof did you have in it? Best of luck to you and your wife!
