Hello to all! I am new to this site, but my friend warmly recomended me this forum..and i really need help.
I have a very good friend who lives in England (he immigrated there from Romania) and now i want him and he wants to come to USA... i would like to know which kind of visa would help him get here? and what would be the process? Could he apply for visa from England or must go in Romania?
I'd appreciate much if i can find any support with this problem.
Thank you!

Hi Rebecka. Are you asking about an immigrant visa or a visitor's visa?

If he wants to immigrate, he would need a US citizen spouse or fiance to petition for him to be able to come to the US quickly. Otherwise he'd need a different US citizen relative or permanent resident, like an adult child, parent, brother, or sister, to petition for him but that could take many years. Does he have any of these?

Otherwise, he might try applying through the Diversity Visa Lottery. There's a chance he could get lucky that way. Romanians are eligible, although UK citizens are not, so he'd have to apply as a Romanian.

Here is the site from US Citizenship and Immigration Services that explains the paths for immigrating to the US (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=4f719c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=4f719c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD).

If he just wants to visit, he should go to the nearest US Consulate (http://www.usembassy.gov/) and find out what their procedures are for applying for visas.
