Hello Everyone since Laurafern can't do the chat anymore because of her new system at work, I decided to make a thread so you can write your questions for Laurel, so I put them in her chat. Let me know if you have any questions.

Great Idea! I'm going to move this thread to the chat log area. We don't want the I-601 All Other Countries or people who have questions not related to I-601s to be left out. :)

Do I need to submit pictures of me and my hubby as evidence?
and my hubby wants to have his nurse write the letter regarding his health condition instead of the Doctor writing it?do you think that will affect our chances?

Jenny - only include pictures if they somehow demonstrate the hardship your husband will suffer without you.

Question 1: Is there a way to confirm that a waiver has arrived to the DHS in Lima ?
Question 2: If losing your job is one of your hardships (not the main one), should you stick with that job until a decision has been reached on the waiver ? Or is it ok to change jobs ?

Thank you !!!

i posted this on another thread, i'll copy and paste it here.

ok, can someone ask laurel if she has ever seen a k3 case where the i-130 is approved and the i-129f is not approved, but the language on the NOA2 for the i-130 says that the case is being held here and in order to get it sent to NVC, i need to send the i-824? i thought it only said that when the i-129f was approved at the same time and was sent to NVC/CDJ and the i-130 was held here for AOS after waiver approval. also, if she has seen such a case, how did it get resolved? am i going to have to file the i-824 and sit in the backlog for that for their error (i clearly indicated on the form that my husband was NOT eligible for in-country AOS and i indicated CDJ as the site for the consular interview).

thanks.

Can you ask Laurel the following:

Is being arrested for drug paraphernalia a CIMT? and if so, would they be considered inadmissable.

Perez782, Could you ask Laurel this question for me, her chat is not working om my comuter. Thanks a lot!

In June 2001 my husband received a F1 visa and studied in the US for a Year. After that, he returned to Mexico and in June 2004 while trying to go to the US he got an Order of Removal and a 5 years ban with it. The day after getting the Removal, he tried to cross using his old and expired F1. They didn’t review the document and just let him in. We met in Sept 2005 while he was illegally working using his student SS#. He stopped working in July 2006. We moved to Mexico to get married there in Nov 2006 and to take care of the situation. Our only baby boy was born in Sept 2007. Considering this timeline, and his time there; was his 2004 entry an EWI, do to the lack of documents check?, will he get a 10 years ban (9C)? And, would it be waiveable?
