hello to all,
In a email form Rio 2 weeks a go they told me thei have send to Lima my waiver,
and they also told me to wait for a week to contact them?
Should I call LIMA to see if they got my waiver? Or is better sending emails?
and what is lima´s email?
I wanna make sure they got the waiver so I can send the rest of the package.
Thanks for any help

My I-601 wasn't sent to Lima for almost a month after the interview. We had a Senators aide call for us like every 2 months or so. He found out about the approval before we even got the letter in the mail. Good luck to you!

Lima is not good with calls from citizens. They may berate you when you call. Just use your good judgement.
Rio is better with answering calls and emails. They will know when you have been approved. We actually found out because our DIL called Rio every week and found that one of the staff members was very nice and they struck up a friendship of sorts. This staff member told our DIL when the approved waiver arrived back in Rio and was on the desk of the CO to be taken care of. This was before she received any letters or anything notifying her of the approval.
When you send your docs to Lima, make sure you send them so that you get a signed receipt from them. If I were you I would go ahead and send them. We sent out docs right after we were allowed to file the waiver in Rio. Rio did not send their paperwork for about a month. So Lima received our information first.
Rio generally will not send all of your waiver packet. They will tell you that you do not need all of that information. That you only need the HSL. They are not telling you the truth, I surmise that they just don't want to have to do anymore work than necessary.
Yes, a senator or congressman will be able to get information much quicker than you or your lawyer can or will. Go to their website and fill out the paperwork giving them permission to inquire on your behalf. All of the directions should be there under constituent services. Some are willing to help and some are not.
Good luck.

I'm tempted to call Lima too just to see if our whole packet has arrived yet, but I guess I'll just have to hope that it has :shy:
Camilla, how long did it take to get your waiver approved ? Congrats !

Thank you, we were in Rio in November, and it was approved on April 28th, but didn't get the letter from the consulate until mid May. And about the Congressman, you are Right. Senator MaCaine' aide (AZ) didn't do much, Senator Kyl's aide(AZ) was the one that offered to call. So go to your congressman at your state.
