Nope nothing. Am I doing it wrong? I am calling and pushing in my WAC numbers, but it says they have no record. Even when I talk to a live person.

Angela, last night I check about 7:30 a.m. and there was nothing, Today at 6:45 I called and the message said that they received my case on 3/31/08 and that they will forward info to my lawyer, I also got the case # for CDJ. You do enter the #?

hmm i am wondering if i am jumping the gun on freaking out...maybe my case will get there after all despite the wording on my NOA2 that said it wasn't being transferred, since china's said that too and hers was...maybe i just need to give it another week.

well what do you all think? should i cancel my infopass for tomorrow and wait it out or should i go? since perez was approved 3/15 and they just received hers yesterday, maybe i should wait? but then if i wait and it's never transferred, i will have wasted time.

Jsierra, was yours transfer to NVC?

perez782
04-01-2008, 06:18 PM
to be honest with you everything is going fast with NVC. Mine it took about 18 days to arrive at NVC.

perez782

I think you should go just to make sure that everything is in good order.

Hi perez I see everything is goning fast with you, but i'am a bite confuise, what is the NVC rec'd approval? We send the 824 feb/29/08 and we recived i-797 Notice of Action with a new receipt number, but is coming from Laguna Niguel california service center me puedes explicar porfavor? en que parte estas tu

First - I am not fluent *or even close* in spanish - but I have read enough to generally get the idea of what is being said sometimes, especially when they are terms that I see frequently. I can read and understand more than I can hear and understand ... I think. Speaking - forget about it ... I don't think I could make sense if I had to.

Second - I am sorry if flor already explained things in her posts that followed this one ... but ... they were a little harder for me to follow than this one was.

I just wanted to clarify something. Perez states that they are waiting for the visa bill and the I-824 packet. At NVC - they do not send out the I-824 - and I think that it is being confused with the I-864, affidavit of support. There is one little number difference.

Flor in fact needed to file the I-824 because there has been no action on her already approved petition and she needs to get it sent to the NVC, if I remember her case correctly. This will take some time to happen, I think I have read that CSC is working on I-824's from August 2007 currently. (so sorry you have to wait Flor, I hope it does not take that long)

Perez - the NVC will send you the I-864 packet after you return the AOS fee bill, which comes before the visa bill. There are two separate bills from NVC which result in two packets being mailed out. The first is the AOS bill ($70) and will result in the I-864 packet. Then - you will get the Visa bill ($400) which will result in the DS-230 packet. The DS-230 is the last packet you will receive from NVC - which upon completion - your appt will be scheduled in CDJ a short time later.

Again - I apologize if this was already stated - or if I was off base and mis-understood the spanish. I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of the difference in the I-824 and the I-864 as they are really different things and needed for different reasons, but are easily confused by 1 number being off.

Hi luckySrite i did file the I-824 back in feb/29/08 and we got a letter from CSC in march /15 saing that they received and is pending now. So they will tranfer it to NVC? thanks for helping us

perez782

Okay, know I understand, Thanks Luckysprite, I got confused, Flor I thought you were approved already. You know that CSC is moving fast!

Luckysprite
04-01-2008, 11:57 PM
Flor - yes, I believe once they approve the I-824 request to transfer your I130 - it will get sent to NVC and you can continue processing from there. Yay!! I hope it doesn't take too long.

I just didnt want Perez, or anyone else to get confused by your case - since not too many of us have to file the I-824 and it is so close in name to the I-864!!

Luckysprite

Okay, know I understand, Thanks Luckysprite, I got confused, Flor I thought you were approved already. You know that CSC is moving fast!

Perez - Flor's I-130 has been approved already. Sometimes - and for many reasons - the I-130 can end up not making it to the NVC though. If this is the case - a person needs to file the I-824 which is a petition to get action on an already approved petition.

They file the I-824 and this will get their file sent to NVC so that they can continue the rest of the process.

I hope that helped explain things a bit more.

You're welcome Flor ... and thanks for the well wishes!!

Perez - there was a delay in our case because we had one tough time getting my husbands passport. It was the last document we needed to send everything back in together - and we really started trying to get it in NOVEMBER 2007 ... 3 months early - and it still took us way too long!!

Excited - a little - more like NERVOUS!! :) (but yeah - a little excited too!)

BTW - congrats on making it to NVC - things will go much quicker now - and you should be in CDJ soon too!! If we would have had all of our supporting documents - we could have been done with NVC in less than 3 months - not using any of the shortcuts that people talk about either!!

04-02-2008, 03:19 AM
Lucky - 3 months for a passport! Wow! Hopefully you will get it soon,

Perez - Congrats! Wishing you the best :)

I want to ask a question in regards to the I-824....I didn't receive an approval notice for the I-130, but do have a CDJ# and have received and mailed the AOS form and choice of agent form. I have contacted CIS to see what they have and all I was told is that they'll have to investigate it further as they still show the I-130 as pending. What the heck? I'm trying to do this on my own as a lawyer is way out of my budget. I just don't want any unnecessary delays in the process.

perez782
04-02-2008, 03:25 PM
Well Gonzalez, I know that your file was transfer to NVC and your getting the form which is good, but you never got the approval letter? The I-824 is to transfer your file to NVC, Flor was approved but her file or approval never got to NVC, so they can send her the necessary ppwk. I'm not sure if you need your approval for the interview at CDJ. Why can they send you a copy?

perez782
04-02-2008, 03:26 PM
Chalakita and Jsierra, she mailed the I-824 because her case from CSC was never tranfer to NVC and she has being approved already, so she fill this out so her case can get transfer!!

jsierra, glad you got things figured out.....just clarification:
if you filled out the I-130 and put downt that you would be adjusting in CDJ or any other consulate and It has been recently, then sometimes you can call uscis and they can get things straigten out without having to fill out the I-824.

if you have an approved I-130 that was never sent out to the nvc or it has been approved a long time ago, the I-824 form will get the I-130 sent back to the nvc so that you can begin the process.

in flor's case, she is currently waiting the approval of the I-824, and her I-130 to be sent to the nvc. In my experience, for the I-824 all you recieve is a receipt notice, you never get a notice of action approval, you just start recieving stuff from the nvc......
