Chapital

So, in preparation for our upcoming vacation to the Yucatan (so excited!!!!) I have been to the tanning bed a few times in the last 2 weeks. I have basically tranlucent skin and burn in minutes (literally blister burned in 15 minutes last summer while in Mexico) and I didn't want to be a lobster for our entire vacation. I have only tanned once before and it was almost 10 years ago, also before a big trip, so maybe I have forgotten what it was like. So, I have somewhat of a base tan now (looks tan to me, but if you saw me on the street I still look totally white) and I am going to go one last time to tan tonight, but I am sooooooo itchy. It is almost unbearable. I lather on the baby oil after a shower and slather on the lotion before bed, but nothing helps. So, I'm sitting here at my desk, trying not to scratch in embarassing ways. I'll be made if after all this I still get a bad burn! I know it's a slow posting day here...so just thought I'd share

Wow, you must be really amazingly white Chapital! :)
You will have fun either way. I would try the aloe like Angela said after tanning. That helps me a lot when I burn.

sadly i am extra white...so white that you can see my veins in my arms and so all nurses/techs think they can find them when I need blood drawn, but I am also amazingly hard to stick...can't tell you how many times I have been butchered while trying to get blood drawn only to have them call in an expert...don't know why I felt the need to tell that story, but...

Are you using lotions when you get OUT of the beds. I know if I don't use any, I get ichy too.

I work outside all summer, and I know that the first couple weeks I'm outside all day every day and the sun is getting stronger I am unbearably itchy. Nothing helps... Aloe, a little bit, actually, It's very soothing.
I know this will sound crazy, but put a diluted vinegar solution on your skin if you get a bad sunburn and the acid neutralizes your burn. It makes healing a lot easier. I don't know exactly how it works, I only know that it does!
Chapital, have the greatest time!!!
