Hi!

I am just wondering if there are (m)any people out there whose I-601s have been approved, and who don't have children or super serious medical needs. I have no kids, and some medical needs, and I am worried about my husband's appointment next week. (Though we do demonstrate hardship, and the affidavit is well documented).

Just want to hear what's out there!

Thanks!

Hi Delalunaluna welcome!

I believe if you look at Laurafern's HSL you will see that she didn't have any children or any "major" medical issues either... and I do believe there are a few other's I've read about, just don't remember exacts... here is a link to Laura's

HTH and best wishes next week, give us an update when you can!

Blessings

Thanks! that was helpful. She and I are pretty similar, it seems. although her husband is more educated than mine, and I think that helps.

I am so worried! But it just seems like it would be so wrong for it not to be approved!

I like her section about not having had children. I have often thought about that. I refuse to have children until we have a house (which we just got), and until I have completed my education (or at least gotten my master's, which I am starting in the fall).......

Thanks again!

Hi there!

There are a lot of people that haven't had kids or serious medical. I used my husband's education as much as possible but he didn't finish college, so in reality it's not as big a factor in our lives as one might think.

I would play up the education part. Argue that your values and upbringing require you to finish your education first and how devastating it would be to have to relocate and waste/give up your education and plans.

Hey girl! Next week? Good luck! Have you posted your HSL for review?

Hey tsksgirl, no I haven't posted it. I was thinking about it but I spent like 3 whole weeks doing it, and I have an attorney who is considered top notch around here, and THEN I work at an immigration law firm as a legal assistant (we do mostly employment based though), and one of my attorney friends who specializes in family based also reviewed it.....

so it's like too many cooks!

I am confident that it is as strong as it can be, it's just the actual substance i'm worried about. but I did play up the grad school stuff, and my depression (i have two counselor letters), and some gynecological issues i have, and the financial, and losing my house if we had to move.

I want my hubbdy! (whines)
