I think that people are feeling a little 'blah' tonight. This week at work was intense with many changes...I also had my cousin for the week which wore me out.

Well, I've been chasing cows. Apparently, they decided to get out and take a little trip down the highway. Maybe they needed something from the store. Who ever knows, really. It was a large community effort to get them back in, but now they are sulking quietly in their pasture. I'm off to get a much needed bath.

They pushed on the fence until they broke it. I'm not sure what they were thinking. The good news is that they wandered over into the nieghbors yard rather than the main highway. The nieghbors started chasing them (which they thought was great fun, both the nieghbors and the cows) and they just ran around in the field. it was all fun and games until the cops showed up. Yes, someone called the police. What were the police going to do? Arrest them all? That was my suggestion. So then all the nieghbors and the cops were chasing cows and strangly enough, they all thought it was good fun. After many swear words, we all got them back in. It was harder managing people that don't know much about cows than the actual cows. LOL! I thanked the local police. They had the blue lights on and everything. Big fun today! LOL!

This reminds me of a time a chicken escaped and we all had to chase it. The funny things is that no one could catch it! finally we all just got tired of it. It was fun though.

What? You guys - are you pulling our legs? or do you really have cows and chickens?
Hey, it's cool if you do, I'm just saying...this might be the first time we have heard about farm animals on I2US.

Speaking of farm animals - we went to the Pennsylvania Farm Show this winter. Cows are SO much bigger in person than I ever imagined!

We have cows. 75 cows, as a matter of fact, on this farm where I live. We have 2 other farms that also have cows. I think there is 250 total.
I think they get a little bit of spring fever. Once they all got out, walked all over the rest of the farm, down the road, all over the next farm, then came back and put themslves back in the pasture before morning. Oh, and they ALWAYS get out on Christmas Eve. Every year. Never fails. It's a little bit of a tradition to chase cows on Christmas Eve on our farm.
One thing you all must know about chasing cows, you MUST use every obsenity known to man. Otherwise, you'll never get them back in the pasture.

How do you even begin to "push" the cows back in. I'm kinda dumb when it comes to cows, but I cannot imagine even trying to get one to do anything.

Well, to catch the cows, you MUST use alot of swear words and wave your arms. You jog along kinda to the side of them and you hope they go in the gate. Invariably, they won't, so you wave your arms more and use more swear words. You'll do this for about an hour until someone gets smart and goes and gets the feed truck that they use to feed them every day and then they all run along behind the feed truck right through the gate, pretty as you please. Why don't we get the feed truck first, you might ask? Well, we have to do things they hard way. Maybe we just like to cuss and wave our arms. It's an art form. I think all the cussing is what does it, though.

Yeah, I think the cops had a great time. I bet they'd rather chase cows than deal with what they normally have to deal with. I'll invite them over again next time they get out.

you guys are too much. I love this tread. I just got home a bit ago. I have been to a baby shower at the most wonderful family's home. I did not know anyone. I took my DIL because she does not drive yet.....the couple having the baby are my DIL's friend's brother and his partner. My DIL has never been to a baby shower. Just a great fun day.
I sort of felt like the "Wedding Crashers" but these lovely people welcomed me into their home and we just had a great time. Just an amazing day.
So thanks again for the laughs on this thread. I love the cows and the chickens and even the lame jokes. All quite good fun and a good ending to a pretty amazing day.

arcoiris this thread made my day today which i really needed because i went into el paso with my 6yr old boy and this guy came up to us and asked me if i had any matches well i did so i gave them to him and then he wouldnt leave us alone well he ended up jumping on the back of my truck as i was reversing and then when i was driving because i was to scared of this guy i called my dad to meet me at a certain place so he could help me the guy decided to try to stand up as i was driving and he started to throw a couple of pieces of garbage that was on the back of my truck at a car behind me well he wouldnt leave me alone when i meet at the place with my dad so i had to call the police my 6yr old boy was so scared and so was i. thank god the police came and arrested him but i am still shooken up and so is my boy. then i got on here and read the story about chasing the cows and it reminded me of being back in ny because my hubby worked on a dairy farm i remember being woken up at 1am and going to chase cows with my hubby. we lived on a main highway and we had to have the cops there to stop traffic because the cows thought they owned the street lol.thank u so much i needed this today

I'm glad our cow chasing brightened ya'll's day. (Yes, ya'll's is a word, at least here).
Slv, That's a terrible thing to happen! It's just the sort of bizzare thing that would happen to me. I swear, crackheads flock to me. If there is a crackhead in a 20 mile radius, they are going to find me and start acting all weird. I was walking into the bank once and this guy ran past me BACKWARDS, yes backwards, and ran all the way acroosed the parking lot slap into the ONLY parked car in the parking lot. He was looking me dead in the eye when he did it. Set off the car alarm and everything. Since I'm a wonderfully compassionate person, I laughed at him until I had to sit down on the steps at the bank. I'm so glad there are cameras at the bank, or else nobody would have belived me.
