I really feel bad about mishandling the reputations points. As Salsa said, I think I contributed ruining the fun for everyone. I really am truly sorry and I regret doing what I did. I think I am going to go hide under a rock for a while. I am embarrassed and ashamed. I really did not mean for this to happen. Again, I am sorry to the moderators and I am sorry for all the members on here. I hope that you all accept my apologies. In the future, I hope to contribute in a positive way and hopefully someone will use my help. Ok, Bye!!
Dont leave!
Hey I contributed in the fun as well...but I am still sticking around...its just plain fun...I dont think anybody's life revolved around the reputation points.
So dont stress about it...:)

I truly tried to give rep to those whose posts were valuable to me and mostly did but I too am guilty of giving and receiving a few empty points and I am sure many are too....so please don't feel bad.

Nothing worth leaving over. The system was flawed to start with.
We're just trying to revise it and hopefully bring it back.
Not one member specifically was more or less to blame. In fact we don't even know who gave out points or how many.

If all the people that did it would leave the site girl it will become empty quick, lol. No harm done and it was fun while it lasted.

You did wha?
Hey... I just noticed the rep thing was gone.... wow... and usually I am pretty observant.
I can't imagine anyone is upset with you for whatever reason you think.
Methinks all is cool in the I2US world.

I didn't read all the posts, so sorry if this is a repeat.
Auntlily: We all had our moments when we gave points when it was not for valuable immigration advice. You have provided advice and not to mention awesome support for all of us here. You have an awesome sense of humor and have made me chuckle many times. You are a valuable member here.

Whoever pleads guilty will be required to donate $100 as penalty.
You can still withdraw your guiltyplea if you already have done so.

I don't even know what all this 'fun' was about. I missed it! Auntlily seemed to have apologized for something that others also have admitted being guilty of. That's a good thing! She wasn't alone!
I hope I don't offend anybody but I didn't think the reputation button was a good idea in the first place although it was implemented with good intentions. I know there are members that have more knowledge of particular issues than others and we all have comments and opinions that are going to be different in quality, some might be more informative than others, but that's okay.
I want to look at all the members' posts as being one of the same having the intention of helping others regardless of the quality of their posts. The quality of information and quantity of personal time used to post is important and valuable.
I've always just wanted to look at every member as being as valuable as any other and I didn't need to see a reputation button elevating one over any other. It's good to give praise where it's deserved but sometimes this might not work out well in the long run.
That's just the way I see it and if the mishandling of points brought it to be removing, then maybe that is a good thing. Hope I don't offend anybody by saying I wasn't that fond of the reputation button. It was a good idea but oh well, they were just little green boxes after all.

I agree! Somebody gave me a bad rep for voicing my opinion...and Lynette told me to start a post on my bad rep...it was stupid....I saw it more as a popularity contest anyway.

There was a skills trade class where there was a ball cap with "Top Gun" or something on it to represent the person that outperformed all the others at the end of their class which was categorized into about four segments with each one awarding the cap to the one that excelled.
The intention was to create a little competition to drive each student to try to excell. That is a good thing. A little competition is good, it keeps us going! (I'm not referring to the reputation button as being a competition.) This is just an example given here.
This awarding of the cap created jealousy and animosity because some students claimed and argued they were better than the others and some believed there was favoritism behind it.
Sometimes things that are meant to be good won't work out in the long.
We all know there are member's that have a vast knowldege of these discussions that are posted and we are very fortunate to have them. There are others that might feel like their replies aren't as valuable or are inadequate because they aren't as knowledgeable (but all benefit the board!); others might think one is too outspoken in their posts, and on an on and on and the result is one person's opinion giving a bad rep that might not have been necessary or justified. So that is one negative aspect of having the reputation button. One could have a buddy and ask their other buddies to beef up the points....and so on.
In a sense it could've been looked at as a popularity contest. I even thought that when I first noticed the buttons. Let's just say 'everybody' is popular, is appreciated, adds to the benefit of what this site is about, is valuable and has a good rep!!
I just think that the true intention of the person trying to help is what is at the heart of this and should be left at that.
At least it got a trial run and the moderator's are probably better off for the removal of it. They had good intentions at the start.
Hey its so not worth leaving over. We all had fun with it no big deal.
Stay ok.

Hey, what happened to rep points?
I didn't even notice until I opened this thread that I didn't have them.
But dang, now that I think of it, I miss being one of the MOST POPULAR people here! lol:bleh::wink:

Auntlily! I didn't even realize they were gone lol... that's how important they are to me! Yeah it's fun when you're getting a lot of points but I can tell you now most of mine weren't because I'm intelligent about immigration. Please don't feel bad. It's just one less thing for anyone to worry about.

nineten ... YES you are - just not as much as Dorothea!! (I am only joking!!)
I do agree with your previous posts - and was not that crazy about the whole deal to begin with ...
Regardless of how I felt - it is no reason for someone to leave the forum - and Auntlily, I am glad your hiatus is over ... 4 hours is just too much time to be gone! ;)
