I wondered what kind of experiences other people have had with USCIS/DOJ messing up. I have posted bits here and there in other threads, but I wanted to start a clean thread and see what kind of similarities there were with all of us. I think this is the most frustrating part for me, because my husband would not be in removal proceedings if his previous paperwork from USCIS had arrived on time. Had he gotten it on time and responded/shown up at hearing, they never would have found him non-responsive and kicked him into the DOJ system.
For example:
USCIS Texas mailed the biometrics appt. to lawyer and us, our's never arrived, they mailed a second copy and that has never arrived.
DOJ Boston gave us our second court date, letter to attorney stated 01/24/08, we showed up and our lawyer was told we were not on the master, they had us listed as 01/29/08, they saw us on the 24th but never once fully admitted on the hearing tape that it was a clear mistake on their part...the judge said, "it APPEARS that the paperwork sent to attorney XXXX has the 24th as the date, but the court paperwork says the 29th"
Anyways, this whole process is infuriating. It seems the system is set up to make people fail.
