Well my packet was received the same day as girlegrl7 and she already has her biometrics appt and she also received her NOA1 a while back. I called our lawyer today to see what was going on because I can't even check if our check for the immigration fees was cashed since we made it out to him (Our mistake ugh) well he called me back today and he said the check hasn't been cashed... our packet was received on Feb 14 so it's about to make a month. Well he said that since my case its a 245i they might be taking longer and that I should call him back at the end of the week to see if they cashed it. At the beginning he said it would take about 6 months for the process, does this mean it's going to take longer???? nooooo!!!! I hate waiting!!!!

my wife was admitted under 245i. she was also grandfathered. it seems that the checks took a few weeks to clear. the wait time for the case was about 16 months. at least for the initial interview date. but there was a mistake made by the lawyer and a wrong address so it took an additional 8 months or so. from now on dont make any checks to the lawyer. i wouldnt. it says right on the instructions who to make the checks payable to. i had to refile the entire package for my stepson because of an in-competant lawyer. the package i filed wook only 8 months. give it a little time. make sure you get all copies of you filed papers. remember that the lawyer works for you. your the boss. you should have received the noa,s for the papers that were filed. for 245i the money for the package should have been close to 2000 (round figure) just for the immigration fees. thats including the 1000 fine. at least if the entire package was filed at once. 2000 should be close. fees may have changed since i filed. you can check on your own case. for the checks clearing just keep checking your account. if you have the noa (notice of action) you can go to the immigration website and get an e-mail notification when something changes in reguards to the number on the notice. including the EAD, I130, I485.

Wow Dgman!!!! 16 months it's a really looong time!!! I hope mine doesn't take that long! well every lawyer we went to see said the process would take at most 6 months even this lawyer. Me and my husband are really concerned with the time it will take because he'll leave to train in San Diego in Sep and he leaves to Iraq in Jan. and if we have the interview during that time I'll have to cancel it and we wanted to have a mini vacation before he left :( Well on March 14 made exactly a month since immigration received my packet but I haven't even received the NOA so I guess that's what worries me the most. And I can't check my account to see when the check is cashed because we made the check out to the lawyer so he could "track it" and he cashed our check in Feb. So I'll just call him again today to see if it was cashed last week but I really doubt it....

Justme: when did you received your NOA? did a month pass by before you received anything?

girlegrl7: I know it sux!! but you are so lucky at least you know everything is going fine!!! I though we would have similiar timelines since our packet was received the same day so when I saw that you got your bio appt I freaked out, but hopefully everything is ok like you said.
