Can Fiance's income be used for the Affidavit of Support?

I am collecting all of the documents. Can I use my fiance's income and savings account info, in addition to my own? He definitely has a bigger savings account but I have a better income and a house.

The guidelines refer to the petitioner's or applicant's funds. Be sure you are clear on what you need to prove if the money is outside the US.

Knowing how confused the people at CDJ are, I wouldn't do this unless you personally cannot meet the poverty requirements without his income. I'd be afraid they would not accept it because they don't understand that it's an option.

I don't think his income itself will count since he will no longer have that job -- but perhaps his savings would as long as you show how it will be transferred to the US per the instructions.

If the financial resources are derived from a source outside the United States, a statement as to how the funds or income are to be transferred to the U.S. must be provided.
