Hey everyone! When my Mom was backlogged in October I decided to write to my Congressman. Well they really didn't help, the guy called the Consulate and gave me some information last time I contacted them. Well I contacted their office again and he's going to check for me again. I'll let you know what he says when he calls me back.

Anyway, I want to ask all of you to do this. Write to Congress, call them, fax them. I know it seems like it doesn't really matter, but I strongly believe we need to do something. We need to call attention to this issue. Don't ask them to bring back your husband, just simply state what you and your family are going through and how there is a need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and please mention the Dream Act as well. Remember that you are citizens. Thanks everyone.

Make sure you have the correct Congressman. You can look for their website and they should have an area for immigration issues. Good luck. Oh, don't write to Senate, write to U.S. Representatives.

Just curious, why do you say to write the US representatives not the Senators?

I utilized our Senator before to sort out the name match issue and plan to contact them again in May when my husband will have been gone for a full year.

Girl you were with me during all that Dream Act stuff.. it's hard not to get cynical! Look how much we called and it just didn't matter.. they have their own agendas.

I was inspired by your words and said yeah its time to take some action. I just finished writing to both of the congress women from CA. Everyone in this forum should do this.

We can't give up Taskgirl. We can't let their agendads defeat our purpose. If we can get people to move, then we need to. The reason I said to write to your Representative is because they at least offered to call the consulate and find out what was going on with my Mom's case. At that time we were still trying to get the infopass appointment. This is the second time I contact their office to see if they can get more information for me. As for the Senate, I wrote to them and they e-mailed me back all their excuses for not passing the Dream Act. If you feel you should write to Senate then go right ahead. Like I said before, we can't just sit around and wait. I personally feel a lot better contacting their offices than just waiting around. Immigrants are human and if they entered illegal they are still human and so are their citizen spouses and children.

By All Means Call Them , You Would Not Believe How People Listen To Them And They Can Get Things Done In A Hurry When They Put Their Mind To It. I Am Sure You All Remember When My Wife Had Her Problem At The First Interview And I Called My Congressman At Home. Within Hours Of The Phone Call I Had Mr B Calling Me To Have My Wife Back At The Consulate Asap. They Put Her On The Express Lane And She Was Out The Door Within 2-1/2 Hrs. ( It Helps Also That He And I Are On The Board Of Directors At The Local Skill Center) But In Either Case He Says His Office And Most Of The Others Take These Problems Seriously. Part Of The Problem Is, If They Have Not Been Involved Before They Have No Idea Where To Start.(learning Curve) ////keep Calling,faxing,e-mailing Ect.
