Can someone post this for laurel Scott please. I do not want to make a huge error.
I am in the process of completing the I-129F application for my fiance. He got deported last August and I have to submit the I-601 and I-212 at the consulate once his petition in denied. My fiance participated in a custom marriage ceremony with the mother of his children 8 years ago in his home country. He filed an assylum case and stated that he was married - referring to the custom ceremony in his country. Should we answer yes for ever been married. The marriage was not considered a law abiding marriage in his country and he cannot get a divorce decree for a marriage that didn't legally exist. Which direction should we take - yes married? or no? I don't know what to do.
