Hello all:
I guess I'm stuck, but don't really know where I stand! It's been 8 month I submitted our waiver, supposedly to be adjudicated in New Delhi (at least that's What I was told at time of submission on I-601 & I-212 @ the consulate). The people @ New Delhi website tells not to bother them 4 at least 6 months from receipt of the Forms....OK! So I have been tryng to call them during the last week @ the number the consulate gentleman gave me, but no one picks up that #!
Now I get to hear that waivers (601 & 212) submitted together get adjudicated in Rome, Italy, not New Delhi. OK! I check their updates available thru website every 15 days, and our case is not there yet. And most interestingly, their telephone number listed for contacting does not have enough digits....although fax number has all the degits.
What do I do now? U know how it feels to look towards an empty horizon or walking thru a dark tunnel...Many of u here say that "they" don't give any info over the fone. What if I send a fax? U think I would get an answer by a return fax? Did any of u have done this?
Your feedback is honestly appreciated:thumbup:

Been waitig ever since...
Email them, they will get back to you within a week...they are good with that.

Thanx to u both. Yes I sent an email to Rome and they replied, saying that our case is being handled in New Delhi and they forwarded my email to them. Do any of u have New Delhi email address?
Thanx again.
God bless us all.

How about getting your congressman or senator's office involved? You are outside the "normal processing time", so that would be a good next step if you don't get any response from trying to contact them yourself.

I'm getting ready to wright our waiver, it will be sent through the embassy in Tunisia to Rome. Is there a way to expedite this process using my states senator how do I get them involved and does it really save time?

Hi hi....
some thoughts here on the subject...
Basically from what I understand, your congressman/senator will probably only want to be involved/write a letter if either:
-You case has fallen outside of regular administration waiver processing times and you can show that your hardship is being increased as a result
or
-Your case has a medical/personal safety reason for expedition/speeding up the case. This means the USC is either very ill and must get medical (life saving) attention immediately, or, there is an infant USC involved who needs a parent caring for them OR, there is a war or a threat that exists for the USC in the country they will be forced to reside in....
You may have reasons that would require involving your congressman/senator....which if I go by the above I hope not.
cheers
