did anyone experience trouble scheduling an appointment with infopass, form what I read in this forum you have to make it two weeks before the appointment date to try and make it a day after, but I keep having trouble making an appointment, just want to make sure when the time comes it will let me since everytime I try making an appointment in Ciudad Juarez it says no informaiton availabl on appointments at the time try again later, I checked erveryday for the past few days and same thing keeps coming up, can you schedule an apointment by phone does anyone know, thank you.

I've heard that there are certain times during the day during which it's easier to schedule an appointment. I found that the appointment slots do tend to appear late at night. We're hoping to schedule our infopass for 9/13, so I've been trying to familiarize myself with infopass too because I want to know exactly what to expect when the time comes. Like you said, you have to wait until two weeks prior to the appointment to schedule though. Good luck:)

Hi girls,
Yesterday I came accross Laurel's post on the juarez forum regarding the pilot program (http://www.smf.juarez-mexico.com/index.php?topic=503.0)
On the infopass appointment, this is what she posted:
Warren: "This new pilot program will utilize the InfoPass appointment system. When an immigrant is advised by a CO that s/he is inadmissible and a waiver is available, s/he will be given a notice from USCIS advising them to make an appointment in InfoPass when they are ready to file the I-601. The letter also clearly outlines the need for supporting evidence to meet the applicant's burden to demonstrate "extreme hardship" to their spouse or parent."
Laurel Scott recommends that you make your infopass appointment 2 to 3 days after your interview. You need to make this appointment before you go to the interview!
To make your infopass appointment click the following link:
https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php
This is from Laurel Scott:
To make the infopass appointment, go to USCIS.gov and click on the infopass icon on the bottom left. Most of the instructions are clear and easy to understand, but there are a few confusing things.
1. After you click on the "Make your Appointment" icon a page will pop up asking you to put in your zip code or choose from a drop down menu. Lots of people erroneously put in the zip code of the petitioner. That's wrong. You need to go to the drop down menu and choose Juarez.
2. Click on the second choice to make a 601 appointment.
3. On the next page, they will be asked for an alien number and a receipt number. If you don't have an alien number, just leave that blank. Put the consular case number (starts with CDJ) in the space for the receipt number, NOT the receipt number for the I-130 or I-129F.
Hope this helps! :shy:

No problem Miaele. I haven't had to schedule an infopass appt yet, but I do remember someone (Laurel or Warren) saying that the program only allows you to view available slots at 2 week intervals only. IE, if you were to look for an appointment today, it would only let you view/schedule an appt betwen June 28 and July 12.
Just now, out of curiosity, I went into the infopass site, and after selecting CDJ, the next window said "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later" Cathryn had the same problem a few days ago. This can mean that all appts in the next weeks are taken, or that there's too many people logged on... not sure if either is the case. Maybe someone can ask Laurel on her next chat.

Hi Cathryn,

C-
I've been checking periodically too, even though I have a while to go. I haven't had any luck. I'm wondering if I'll be able to schedule my infopass before we go. Since our appt is on 9/11, I need an infopass for 9/13 or 9/14 ( supposed to be back at work on 9/17). The problem is, we're leaving for Mexico on 8/31...I'll glue myself to the computer on 8/30, since that would be two weeks from 9/13. If there aren't any appointments available, I might be able to schedule in Mexico, but I won't have much computer access. I wish we could schedule through the phone or mail...but I don't think that's a possibility.

I've been checking all the time just making sure I can even get into the system form when the time comes. How long does it usually take for an appointment if you make it in Mexico? or can you make an appointmet rght after the metting I really hope it doesnt take forver if te infopass website doesnt let us schedule it.

you are correct. the infopass can only be schedule 2 weeks before your first interview. so if you have your appointment mid september, you will need to start looking at the end of August. Be sure to make it 2-3 days after your appointment just in case you have a delay in the fingerprint check. also, you need to have an appointment already scheduled to get in to submit your waiver. They won't let you in otherwise. They will ask for your confirmation, which you print at the time you schedule your appointment, to get in. If you don't schedule your infopass before you leave for your appointment and do get a chance to schedule it when you are in Juarez, you will probably get stuck there for probably two weeks. So to be on the save side, start looking 3 weeks before your appointment to see if you can get the date you are needing. hope this helps. :)

Meesh I just got back from Juarez. A couple of the hotels, the Lincoln Holiday Inn and the Los Cedros (reservation # (1-656) 686- 0936) have internet computer if you stay there. The second one is a little farther down than the Lincoln. We didn't stay at either one but the mall ( Plaza de Americas) not far from the Consulate has internet and it only costs $1.50 a hour.

I got in today after trying all week. and it would only let me make an appointmentfor the july5th and the 19th, but at least I know it is open form time to time. I knew you could only make it two weeks in advance I just wanted to check and reassure I was going to be able too.
